We've been fielding some questions regarding what was agreed to by the Northcrest Civic Association in regards to the Chevron property SLUPs (Special Land Use Permits). Here are the details (I removed one red-lined item to update it to the agreed upon text): SLUP-15- 20061 (Drive-thru restaurant) The Developer shall work cooperatively with DeKalb County related to its review and/or implementation of any commercially reasonable traffic improvements that the County may deem necessary for the Northcrest Road/Chamblee Tucker Road intersection. Update on Pleasantdale Elementary School Construction
On Thursday, July 14, Jim Taylor and Chuck Hunt, representing the Northcrest Civic Assn. (NCA) board, met at Pleasantdale with county construction and planning staff, Principal Brown and other school staff and neighbors for an update. What's Happening at the Chevron Station
The owners of the old Chevron station at the corner of Chamblee Tucker Rd. and Northcrest Rd. received all required Board approvals in December. The Northcrest Civic Association has tried to reach the owner for an update on their plans, but so far we have been unsuccessful. All requested "SLUP's" have been approved by the Board of Commissioners, and one interesting note is that the new building is to be designed to include Mid-Century Modern design elements, with design subject to review by Commissioner Jester.
