No Rezoning for SR Homes' Wintercrest Project Petition

An online petition has been created by a group of Northcrest and Beya Way neighbors (not affiliated to the NCA board) to gather signatures that object to the Wintercrest Project rezoning. The online petition can be found here. Further information on the rezoning can also be found on the online petition page. For awareness, any neighbors with an interest in this project are asked to attend the three public zoning meetings (the first of which is held on April 16th at Chamblee Public Library). The Northcrest Civic Association (NCA) is a non-profit, community-based organization that was originally founded in the 1980s and recently reconstituted in 2016 by neighbors of the Northcrest neighborhood. This volunteer organization serves as a forum for residents to learn about issues affecting their community and as an avenue for exchange with business and government entities in the area. Wintercrest Project : First Meeting Summary and Next Steps

The developer of the proposed Wintercrest Project, SR Homes LLC, held their required Community Rezoning Meeting on Monday, December 10, at the Redeemer Orthodox Presbyterian Church on Chamblee Tucker Road. There were 40-50 nearby residents in attendance, primarily from Northcrest and Marydale/Olde DeKalb.  SR Homes’ attorney presented the site plan for the proposed 27 homes to be built on the 5 parcels that they have under contract. The community meeting that was scheduled by SR Homes to discuss the proposed Wintercrest development has been rescheduled from Tuesday, October 10th to Monday, December 10th. The time and location are the same. Please see the original news article for these details. The reschedule was as a result of the notices about the meeting not being delivered in a timely manner. Please update your calendar to reflect the new date of December 10th, 2018. Wintercrest Project Community Meeting by SR Homes

The NCA team have heard from SR Homes, the company behind the proposed Wintercrest development, regarding a community meeting. The meeting has been scheduled by SR Homes for October 30th at 7pm. The meeting will be at the Redeemer Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 3930 Chamblee Tucker Road. Northcrest neighbors are encouraged to attend to see the plans and ask any questions about the proposed development.
