The Latest on the New Kroger

Community Affairs

The rezoning application requested for the relocation of Kroger to the site now occupied by the former Motel 6 was approved by the Board of Commissioners in June.  Also approved by the Board was the provision allowing a fuel island.  So all Board actions required by Kroger to proceed with their plans to build the new store, and for the shopping center owner to reconfigure the entire site, have been completed.

The Northcrest Civic Association has not spoken with any representatives of the center or Kroger regarding plans or a time frame for relocating existing businesses, although we have heard via previous community meetings that some of the businesses will be relocating to the buildings at the east edge of the property overlooking the current Kroger parking lot.
